In 2006, the dream of possibly every Duck Hunt player has come true: point and motion controls are a thing now with the (then) all new Nintendo Wii. It piqued the interest of many publishers, so much that we're looking at about 1600 games. Eventually the Motion Plus remote extension came along that allowed for even more precise motion controls.

 

Not everything's dandy though, the Wii was criticized for lacking a HDMI port along with graphics not holding water to other consoles like PS3.

 

The Wii was Nintendo's best selling console until the Switch passed ahead in 2021, and it had it's finale in 2019 when the Wii Shop closed. It is worth treasuring because there's no other console quite like it aside from Wii U.
